Thankfully I never garnered any readers, but I am gonna try this again. I mean, how can one throw away such a clever, insightful and CATCHY blog name? One can’t, that’s the truth.

Judgment of the day: There’s a lot of people out there that require patience to do deal with, how much do you require? Personally, I require inordinate amounts of it.

And we thought Hillary Clinton was a tough lady. Carole Penzabene of Detroit, Michigan may be the most quotable woman in America right now.

Indeed, in a time in our history when CNN asks us if Brittney Spears is the most important cultural figure in the country this woman needs more publicity. Carole Penzabene noticed a strange man going in and out of her neighbors house. Ms. Penzabene knew her neighbor was out of town and called the police and then went to confront the man. From Detroit News 4:

“I grabbed him by the T-shirt and held my fist to his face. I was ready to kick his butt,” Carole Penzabene said after she thwarted the attempted robbery.

Police responded to a Madison Heights home in the area of 12 Mile and Dequindre roads around 11 p.m. Wednesday to find a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman pinned to the ground by Penzabene.

When Penzabene approached the man, he told her he was in the neighborhood looking at birdhouses.”So I grabbed him up and told him he ain’t going to be going nowhere,” Penzabene recounted.

“Then his girlfriend came out, and I grabbed her up and said, ‘Both of you ain’t going nowhere.’”In the meantime, Penzabene’s friend called the Madison Heights police.The man attempted to hit Penzabene as she was holding him down, but she was able to grab the female suspect.

She told the man, “Go ahead coward, hit me.”Penzabene said the man started crying. “I guess he was kind of threatened by me, which is good,” she said.Penzabene was able to subdue both suspects until the police arrived.

Ms. Penzabene, you’re pure gold!

Last night marked the four hundredth debate between Hillary and Barack. Does anyone actually learn from these at this point? For the precious moments that I actually paid attention, all I saw was Hillary trying to hit Barack over the head and Barack smoothly allowing that people make mistakes.

I just hope John McCain was listening, because if Barack does take the nomination Hillary Clinton quotes will be all over JMac’s material bashing Obama – awesome, thanks Hillary.

Enough Instant Gratification

A friend responded to my question about whether she has a chat application saying that “email is enough instant gratification”.

Does such a thing actually exist? In this world of hand held gadgets and high speed connectivity, isn’t instant gratification one of the ultimate goals? I know that I like to know things as quickly as possible, whether it’s how a girl feels about me or what happened in the news or what a friend has to say – why wait when you don’t have to?

Of course when I wrote my friend back and told her that I thought stringing the words “enough” “instant” “gratification” together in that order was illegal – she immediately thought I was talking about masturbation. Fair enough, but my point still holds true, we have all these gadgets and applications, why shrug them away in favor of even slightly slower mechanisms?

Death and Taxes

Give me death, I hate paying taxes. I think Government should do five things: provide basic infrastructure to accommodate the population, provide education, make health care available, institute a safe and efficient defense and to support those who can’t help themselves. Oh, the sixth thing is to leave me the hell alone otherwise – stay out of my living room.

Government ought to be the leanest, meanest, most efficient organization out there. The process that some of us have to go through to pay our taxes – much less understand them – is an indication of just how huge our government has become. In protest, I heartily urge readers to begin boycotting taxes until the IRS simplifies the tax code or is abolished all together.*

*I will not be joining the boycott b/c I can’t afford the fines and I don’t want to go to jail

Went to see George Carlin on Saturday night and that was his opening line, followed closely by “and fuck Tiger Woods too!”.

Being that Carlin is the gold standard for cynics everywhere I was hopeful he would give me material for days to post here – in that vein however the show was a letdown. The man was funny though, don’t get me wrong.

I’ll leave you with this poignant thought regarding the level of bullshit in the United States:

Seriously, isn’t someone who tells you you’re too judgmental just being judgmental themselves?

I say you can’t go through life without being judgmental – we all choose who we like, don’t like and who we associate with. Are these not judgments?

That said, I am hyper critical and judgmental. Once a day I will post a thought in the spirit of the title of this blog:
